Stephen Bonime earned his Ph.D. in Music History at Bryn Mawr College under the direction of Dr. Isabelle Cazeaux. As a Haverford undergraduate he co-founded and co-directed the Renaissance Choir of Haverford & Bryn Mawr Colleges with Alex Blachly (the founder and director of Pomerium). While a grad student Steve resumed direction of the Renaissance Choir, which still performs regularly in the Philadelphia area. He has also conducted the Renaissance Chorus of New York, Vassar College Madrigal Singers, Canby Singers, Polyhymnia, and New York Madrigal Singers. In most of these groups, and in many other choruses and professional liturgical choirs, Steve has sung tenor and countertenor.
